Exploring RCT

All of our work is shaped and informed by Relational Cultural Theory, and we are eager to share these underlying ideas with our communities. RCT posits that we grow and learn through and towards relationships. Our facilitated workshops all come from a place of expected mutual growth– the relationships and experiences forged in groups are much more important than the amount of information we share.

BCC offers ongoing continuing education in Relational-Cultural Theory for anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the barriers our relationships face today, and how to reshape our world to one of mutuality, love, and rich, diverse connections. We also partner with the International Center for Growth in Connection to facilitate the Psychotherapy Affinity Group, a free monthly group discussion for clinicians wanting to explore RCT in the context of therapy.

Beginning in October 2023, we are excited to announce RCT in Practice, an ongoing workshop series aimed at both seasoned and aspiring therapists interested in empowering their clients—and themselves—through RCT. Facilitated by Dr. Meenaxi Palaniappan and Amy Makice, find more information here!

Each year we offer an annual Relational Summit. Our hope is to provide an “on-ramp” to relational ways of thinking and living, as well as nurture those community members who are already engaged in relational practices through more in-depth exploring and conversations.

Stay tuned for more information about our third Relational Cadre, a cross-disciplinary exploration of RCT concepts as they apply to a variety of areas of our lives.

BCC also offers RCT-based consulting for your organization or school. We offer in-services for your staff or just problem solving toward a specific goal with a smaller number of people.
