Is Substance Use Getting In Your Way?

Are there times when your use of alcohol or substances doesn’t fit with your sense of who you want to be?  Have you been considering making changes?  Would you like to explore these issues with others who are asking similar questions? This is an 8-week psychoeducation and process group for individuals contemplating or maintaining changes in relation to substance or alcohol use. The group will be run using approaches drawn from RCT (Relational-Cultural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

How do I know if this group is for me?

This group is for anyone who is curious about the impact of alcohol and other substance use on their well-being and considering the possibility of making changes.

Group Goals:

  • To provide an opportunity to explore the role of drugs and alcohol within your life in a safe, non-judgmental setting.
  • To explore barriers to changing substance use, should you choose to do so, and find ways to respond to these barriers that work for you.
  • To provide a space in life where we can consider actions, both large and small, that
  • will move us toward lives we value.
  • To strengthen our positive orientation through authentic connections with others.
